Zambia Police detain Hon. Sinyinda, leader of the BNFA—as the international community is called upon to intervene   by BNFA Publicity Wing   Today, October 12, 2016, the Zambia Police detained Hon. Clement Wainyae Sinyinda leader of the Barotse National Freedom Alliance (BNFA), former Prime Minister of Baroseland, former Deputy Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Senanga Central constituency. Hon. Sinyinda was detained following a Zambia police call out. As people of Barotseland, we don’t take kindly to this continued harassment and abuse of our human rights at the hands of the Zambian government working hand-in-hand with the embattled Barotse Royal Establishment.   Already, Hon. Sinyinda and 83 others were released on a nolle prosequi in Lusaka in 2013 on a treason felony and Afumba Mombotwa and three others were convicted for 10 years in on another treason felony in Kabwe in 2015 while several Barotse activist continue to appear before various courts, assaulted by police officers and being detained on tramped up charges. In the meantime, Mr. Sylvester Kalima Inambao was recently poisoned while serving a 10 year sentence in Mumbwa by Zambia state agents. We call for an immediate stop of these atrocities, release of all Barotse political prisoners. We call on the international community to support the Barotse cause of actualizing Barotseland state and to impose sanctions against the oppressive Zambian regime. We further call on the Barotse to rally behind the BNFA in order to achieve their 2012 BNC Resolutions.
