Barotseland’s independence is imminent—as Zambia celebrates its 53rd national day

Abstract

Barotseland was not destined to be an annexed territory of the Zambian government but to exist as a sovereign nation in the same manner as other former British protectorates. Whereas the British government acknowledged, respected and recognized the sovereignty and political autonomy of Barotseland, its fellow black people of the government of Zambia abrogated the rights and privileges of Barotseland’s self-determination.
