BNFA Response to open letter on social media Type text or HTML

BAROTSE NATIONAL FREEDOM ALLIANCE

10 January 2023

PRESS STATEMENT

The Barotse National Freedom Alliance (BNFA) wishes to disown the open letter to the Republican President circulating on social media purportedly authored by the top leadership. Written communications from BNFA are written on organisation letterhead, which is not the case here.

The authors of the open letter are sternly warned to stop issuing statements which contradict BNFA policy and portray the organisation in ridicule. BNFA was formed exclusively to implement the Barotse National Council resolutions of 27 March 2012 and actualise Barotseland statehood.  Any departure from these resolutions contradicts our policy.

On 30 September 2021 our international lawyers invited the President of Zambia to sign the Permanent Court of Arbitration Submission Agreement, the response to which is still awaited.

We attach the BNC resolutions and the BNFA International lawyers press HH to sign PCA Submission Agreement invitation.

Katukula Mwiya

Secretary General
